Aylesbury Branch of Parkinson’s UK invites you to an evening with Paul Mayhew-Archer, co-writer of ‘The Vicar of Dibley’.
‘Brave … and funny.’
Richard Curtis
Paul Mayhew-Archer has been involved in radio and TV comedy for over 40 years. With Richard Curtis he co-wrote ‘The Vicar of Dibley’ and the film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot starring Judi Dench and Dustin Hoffman. He has also written on numerous other TV series, produced many radio shows including ‘I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue’ and script edited everything from ‘Spitting Image’ to ‘Miranda’.
He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2011 when age 58 and found that his way of fighting it was to find it funny. He made a BBC One documentary called Parkinson’s: the Funny Side which is available on BBC iplayer or via Google. He now performs his one-man show and says ‘every time I perform I feel like I’ve received a triple dose of my medication’.
Proceeds go to the branch.
