Access Guides

Buckinghamshire Council works with AccessAble to provide Detailed Access Guides for Aylesbury.  The guides provide detailed and factual information about visiting a number of venues across the town including shops, cafes, public buildings and leisure facilities.  Detailed Access Guides let you know what access will be like when you visit somewhere. It looks at the route you will use getting in and what is available inside allowing visitors with access requirements to plan your visit.

Shopmobility

Aylesbury Shopmobility is located on the ground floor of Upper Hundreds Car Park. You can hire a wheelchair, scooter or walker, free of charge to help you get around the town centre.

Accessible and Changing Places Toilets

Public toilets with disabled facilities are provided in the town centre.  You can find out where they are located here.  As well as these standard accessible toilets you will also find Changing Places Toilets which are accessible sanitary facilities with a toilet, hoist, washbasin, adult-sized changing bench and optional shower with adequate space for use by persons with a range of disabilities who may require assistance. They can be found at Upper Hundreds Car Park, Sainsbury’s and Tesco.  For full details search here.

Parking

Blue badge parking spaces are available in a number of town centre car parks including, Upper Hundreds, Friarscroft, Exchange Street, Waterside, Waterside North and Walton Street. Full details can be found here. Anchor Lane is a small car park for disabled badge parking only.

Public Transport

Train

Aylesbury train station is just a few minutes walk from the town centre and is served by Chiltern Railways.

The station is fully accessible with a ramp for train access and step free access from the platforms.

Chiltern Railways have an Assisted Travel Team who can help with any enquiries you may have about travelling on their services.  The National Rail website also features detailed information about accessible rail travel and facilities at all stations.

Bus

Aylesbury Bus Station is located just off Market Square.

The majority of buses are as accessible as possible. This includes but is not limited to the use of ramps, display screens, audio-visual ‘next stop’ announcements and low floor buses.
