Most of the older buildings in Aylesbury are to be found in the streets surrounding St Mary’s Church. Largely Georgian in character, with some Tudor and Jacobean buildings, the old town is home to the Kings Head Coaching Inn and Discover Bucks Museum with the Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery.
Aylesbury provides lively entertainment with a theatre, cinema, museum, arts centre and leisure centre, along with bowling, indoor karting and soft play. Just outside Aylesbury is Stoke Mandeville. Widely acknowledged as the birthplace of the Paralympic movement, Stoke Mandeville Stadium is the home of the first National Paralympic Heritage Centre.
